I think this is now the third Transformers movie I’ve seen. I don’t really remember a great deal of the first two, I have to say, other than that I went to see the second one after a night shift with no sleep.
Although the human characters from the first films weren’t actually in this one, I still found it entertaining to watch. Sadly, I did think it was more realistic that the humans turned against their former allies. The transformers were machines, but I could still see real, true emotion in them.
Bumblebee and Optimus Prime were my favourite characters. Bumblebee was amusing and I loved that he uses his radio to talk. He also comes across as more of a teenager, with quite a lot of attitude.
Optimus Prime was my other favourite because he comes across as very loyal, even when the humans have betrayed the Autobots.
I did feel the actors did a really good job with the characters, though I wasn’t so keen on Tessa until towards the end, when she actually seemed to care more about her Dad.
It was good that some attempt, at least, was made to humanise one of the villains. I think that’s always a bit more interesting.
The visuals in this film were really good and I found myself on the edge of my seat and saying things at certain points. If you like this kind of genre, I definitely recommend this film as one to see.
