I have to say… I wasn’t that grabbed by this film when I first saw it advertised. It looked like it would be entertaining, but not something that would be really deep or meaningful. If my sister hadn’t bought it and suggested a group of us sit down and watch, I probably never would have seen it.
The film was definitely entertaining. I recognised three of the main actors in this and they’re all actors I’ve seen and liked in other things. This was entertaining… but there was nothing about it that made me think I’d like to watch it again.
Obviously, a film about strippers is going to have nudity in it. And it was fun to see the actors really get into their roles, dancing and gyrating to the music. There were a number of amusing moments in this movie… but even more moments that were just so cringe-worthy, I almost couldn’t watch.
There were some parts that were a bit darker in this. I would have liked to see a bit more of the effects of the drugs, because I felt that could have added more depth to the film and the characters. Unfortunately, a lot of that was left behind.
I didn’t really like Brooke’s character and a lot of that came from the fact that, for most of the film, she looked perpetually grumpy. She didn’t really come across as very likable at all.
I probably liked Mike the best. He had some of the best lines and I felt his character was more motivated than the others. Dallas was interesting, but not very likable.
There wasn’t really a proper ending to this film, but I felt that worked with the movie. Still, this isn’t one I intend to watch again any time soon.
