(I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveaways).

Having read the first book in this series, I was pretty happy I already had the second book… and I had a much better feeling while I was reading this book. I liked the women, but there were times I got a bit confused with them. The ones who weren’t the main characters seemed almost grouped together into one entity and there were a few who weren’t actually named.
It was nice to see other characters as well in this book. I really liked Alex’s relationship and I liked the fact that he was a fairly interesting character and it was nice to see that the author spent quite a bit of time on his subplot.
I really find it unique that the vampire-race can’t actually get physical with anyone until after they’re bound. It’s an interesting and unique take on it and I felt it kept the relationships real, with just enough sexual tension to indicate that, yes, these two characters are strongly attracted to each other.
I would like to know how the Dragons are formed. If it’s a genetic thing, I would have thought that at least some of the Dragons would be physically related to each other.
I really didn’t like the police officer in this book. I didn’t like him in the previous one, either, but he was particularly annoying in this one. There were a couple of the bad guys that I found fairly intriguing, even though I really dislike them. Not their leader, though – he’s a complete jerk and I really dislike him. I can’t feel any sympathy towards him… or really understand the reasons behind what he’s trying to do.
There were a few emotional scenes in this book and some things that really made me angry. I ran a gauntlet of emotions through this book and that’s a sign of a book that really draws me in and keeps me hooked all through reading it.
I definitely intend to read book three at some point in the future. I also have a short story that’s set in the world as well. If you’d like a more unique take on the vampire paranormal romances… this series is it.
