This was actually the book I requested to read, though the author kindly provided me with the first book to read as well. Although I’m normally fairly good at picking up storylines in books later in a series, it was good to read from the start.
It was nice to see many of the characters from book one, as well as new ones. One of my suspicions that I had from reading book one actually got confirmed in this book, which was pretty interesting, particularly in how it was handled.
I liked the idea of the Fist, but even by the end of the book, I was still left with more questions about Valos and the others. The bond between them was a really intriguing one and I would have liked to see more of that, too.
I did get a bit confused with the connection that Katze and Terius had. Even after reaching the end of the book, I wasn’t sure I really understood what was going on there.
I liked the different kinds of gods there were and the plotline running with one of those was a pretty interesting one. I also liked the idea of the No Stone. Ellen is a particularly interesting element and I’d like to know more about her.
At some point in the future, I’d really like to read the next books in this series. Currently, Amber might be the character I like the most and I’m really intrigued to see how certain elements in this book are going to be explored later on.
