Even though I haven’t been feeling too good today, I still managed to enjoy this film. There weren’t really any surprises in it, but it was still really entertaining to watch.
It’s a bit disappointing that musical films now are using existing songs, rather than writing their own. There was a nice selection of songs, but it’s more creative if the songs are original.
There were some nice bits of foreshadowing in this film. The setting also worked really well and I did like the actors in their roles. I did see a bit of discrepancy once or twice with the singing, but the miming wasn’t too obvious most of the time.
I did see the ending coming, but this was still an entertaining film to watch – and, yes, it was a feel-good film. I thought Madison was a bit irritating, but apart from that, I was easily pulled into this. If you like this genre of film, I’d recommend giving it a try.
