I remember reading the book this film is based on, though it was a long time ago. I think I also saw this film ages ago, too, though I didn’t remember much about it.
I don’t think the film kept entirely true to the book’s storyline, though it was still entertaining and quite intense to watch.
The film didn’t really paint the police or reporters in a good light. When I was watching it, I kept getting angry on the characters’ behalf. It did succeed in keeping my attention throughout the film, though.
I recognised some of the actors and they all did pretty well in the roles, I felt. I particularly liked the actor who played Mark. I felt he brought the right amount of toughness and vulnerability to the role, though I liked him a bit less in the film than in the book.
It was interesting to see how the system worked and was manipulated by both sides. There were a few humorous moments in the film as well as the tense ones.
I did like the book better, but this was still an entertaining film to watch. I’d probably watch it again in the future.
