This film is more of a thriller than a horror type, but I still really liked watching – both times. The first time was when I went to see it at the cinema, while the second time was today, with a friend.
This is quite an intense film to watch. There’s a lot of emotion involved with the characters. I personally feel that the actors did a really good job of portraying the characters. I’ve seen Halle Berry in other things before and I do think she’s a good actress. The emotions of the characters she plays really comes through well.
There’s a particular scene in this that brought me close to tears and caused my friend, who was watching, to tear up as well. Although I had seen this film before and knew what was going to happen, it still kept me on the edge of my seat even the second time around.
I do have some mixed feelings about the ending. There aren’t many endings that I feel emotionally torn about, but this was one of those.
My friend and I watched this film with audio description and I have to say, it wasn’t the best audio description I’ve heard. I had to pick up the slack a couple of times. It’s great that more films are including audio description, but some things are still left out, while unnecessary things are described to the detriment of what is important.
If you like thrillers with lots of action, this is definitely the film for you.
