There’s something particularly scary about bad things happening in airplanes – at least in my opinion. I felt similarly about the film Snakes on a Plane. I suspect it might be because escape isn’t as easy when you’re stuck thousands of feet up in the air.
I think Liam Neeson in particular did a really good job in this film. The desperation of the character he played came through really well. It was also really easy to relate with a lot of the characters in this film.
A lot of the action kept me on the edge of my seat, but if I’m honest, the law enforcement didn’t really come across as very intelligent. The marshal calls to report a threat and an account has been set up in his name for the money to be wired into. So of course the marshal was stupid enough to tell them to trace his own account. I wouldn’t normally be quite that blunt, but this isn’t the first time I’ve seen that kind of idiocy where the police are involved.
The way the hostages were killed was pretty interesting, but I did notice a plot hole. Well, I think I noticed something that didn’t work – but I remember being quite distracted by shouting that was going on in the cinema.
I felt that the airplane itself was utilised in quite a good way – like the oxygen masks and depressurizing the cabin.
I felt the twists worked really well and made sense. I also appreciate that some attempt was made to provide reasons for why it was happening – though I don’t think there was quite enough information given.
I think this film is worth seeing if you like this kind of genre. I would personally recommend watching it, though I probably wouldn’t buy it on DVD; not at full price, anyway.

It’s incredibly dumb, but also, still a bit unpredictable in who is going to end-up being the baddie, and for what reasons. Nice review.
In what way do you think it’s dumb? I’m just curious about what you think.
